What are your thoughts about influencer marketing?
Marketing can be many things. One of the most popular trends is using an influencer to promote your business.
This is not something new. We’ve seen celebrity endorsements since 4 decades ago, if not longer. We don’t all have the budget to spend that kind of money on an endorsement.
Luckily we can use micro-influencers. These are people we follow on social media, who we value their opinion, and most importantly, our audience values their opinion.
How to find the right micro-influencer?
It has to be a combination of a few things:
Audience – the influencer’s audience must be aligned with your audience. If you have an accounting business, you most likely won’t be using an influencer from the fashion industry. But if you have a daycare, chances are that you’ll find potential clients if partnering with a mom-child influencer.
Budget – always ask the influencer how much they are asking. Some will be perfect for you in terms of audience but are way over your budget. Ask what are you getting in return; is it a blog post, story, tag, etc.
There are many things we can talk about when it comes to influencer experience. We’ll save it for another post.
